Patrick is currently working as the curator for the 1st Tamworth Textile Triennial - Sensorial Loop - which opened at the Tamworth Regional Gallery on 23 September and will close on the 26 November 2011. The exhibition will then tour until 2013.

The curatorial focus is about promoting excellence through the diversity of making and ideas that creative practitioners bring to the textile discipline. 

The exhibition title Sensorial Loop implies sensory and emotional responses to working with traditional and contemporay materials, processes and tools that are instinctive and connected to the trend of slow making.

Artists are referring to temporal, familial, nostalgic and haptic/pattern narratives related to the individual experience of making textiles. The loop is ‘the end of which is connected to the beginning’, references the expressive and physical loop of know‐how, of ideas and memory. 

Processes are frequently referenced by artists when contemplating the material qualities and application of textiles to individual practice. “In the end”, states Hofstadter, “we are self-perceiving, self-inventing, [creating] little miracles of self-reference”1.
